Google Self-Driving Cars Could Be Driving Granny Around Soon

With the stroke of his pen Governor Jerry Brown just set off another California Gold Rush. California became the third State to approve self-driving cars on public roads. This is a monumental achievement for tech giant Google and it's founders, Sergey Brin and Larry Page. The financial rewards using this technology is incalculable. I can envision driverless cars driving grandma and grandpa around, and aiding the handicapped. How about a Google taxi or limousine service? Imagine a vehicle that shows up on time - and with no drunk or exhausted driver. Gambling establishments would love to have a bus that would only have two destinations - pickup point and the casino. Google school buses could safely pickup and drop off our children, with a backup driver-monitor of course.

Sorry to bring you back to the real world, but this technology has tremendous military potential too. Driverless military vehicles could be used for combat and rescue of stranded troops or special forces. Imagine a soldier having the ability to summon a tank or food and medical supplies.
